MADE IN ITALY
Where the fabric becomes a garment
Every HERTH piece is born in northern Italy — between Como, where the organic silk is sourced, and the ateliers of the Varese district, where skilled Italian artisans give it form. The distance between the two is measured in kilometres. The connection between them is the foundation of everything we make.
Producing locally is not a positioning choice. It is how we maintain the level of precision that HERTH requires — and how we remain accountable for every step of the process, from the first pattern to the finished garment.

THE PROCESS
Made by hand. Refined by eye.
Each collection begins not with a trend, but with a pattern. A skilled pattern maker works alongside Antonietta to develop each shape from scratch — translating a design intention into a precise technical construction that respects both the silhouette and the nature of organic silk.
Pattern & prototype — Each piece begins with a pattern maker and a toile. The silhouette is developed, refined, and tested before a single metre of organic silk is cut.
Sample development — The approved pattern moves to our atelier in northern Italy, where the first sample is made in the actual fabric. Fit, drape, and construction are evaluated and adjusted by hand.
Production in small batches — Once the sample is approved, production begins — in small batches, in the same atelier, by the same skilled Italian artisans. No outsourcing. No scaling for the sake of volume.
Finishing — Every garment is finished with the same restraint that defines HERTH's aesthetic — clean edges, precise seams, and details that serve the silhouette without competing with it.

THE CRAFT
Clean cuts. Considered finish.
Organic silk is one of the most demanding materials to work with — fluid, precise, unforgiving of shortcuts. It requires a different kind of attention: slower, more deliberate, with a constant awareness of how the fabric moves and where it wants to fall.
At HERTH, that attention is built into the process. The cuts are clean because the pattern is precise. The finish is considered because the artisans who produce each piece understand that in a HERTH garment, nothing is incidental.
"Elegance isn't loud — it lives in movement, intention, and detail."
— Antonietta, Founder

FAIR STANDARDS
Made with care. For the people who make it.
We work exclusively with certified Italian suppliers who uphold the same standards of craftsmanship, integrity, and responsible production — ateliers where fair working standards are upheld at every stage, and where the people who make our garments are treated with the respect their craft deserves.
Producing in small batches, locally, with partners we know by name — this is what accountability looks like in practice.
