The most common problem that’s encountered when recycling fabric is the presence of mixed fibers in the fabric. For this reason, HERTH uses only fabric that is made from one fiber, silk, to facilitate the recycling process.

We digitally print our fabrics, reducing energy and water consumption while minimizing CO2 emissions. Both our dyeing and printing processes are sustainable, eco-friendly, and certified to be free of heavy metals and harmful chemicals. They’re also non-toxic, non-allergenic, and gentle on the skin. Since our skin can absorb up to 65% of substances it contacts, we prioritize safe, natural materials for every HERTH garment.

All of our products are Made in Italy. Every piece in HERTH’s collections is produced in Italy by local artisans in ethical work conditions. • Hand wash with silk suitable natural detergent in cold water. This practice can reduce your energy impact by up to 90%.
• If left for too long in the water, the silk may lose luminosity.
• DO NOT scrub, wring or put in the dryer.
• Lay out horizontally to air dry, do not directly expose to the sun.
• If necessary, iron inside out on low temperature and avoid using steam.
• For stains, use only natural soap suitable for silk.
